As a pool owner it’s important to understand the flow of water for your pool. One of my first questions when someone calls and states they have a green pool is
“what is your flow of water like” Proper water filtration is critical to safe and healthy water. Sometimes you may need to backwash or clean your filter. Sometimes it can be more sinister than that.
If you can’t seem to get rid of algae then the filter may be contaminated and you continually put this back into your pool water.
Understanding the importance of water flow and proper filtration will aid in many problem solving situations. Take note of the picture below and always, before anything else when you are seeing cloudy, discoloured or problem water – check your flow!
